My paternal great great grandmother was Maria Dolores Maestas (b. 1860, d. early 1900's) from the Pojoaque Pueblo near Santa Fe, New Mexico. I found her in the 1860 census. She was the daughter of Francisco Maestas (or Mestas) and Martina Trujillo. She moved to Taos New Mexico where she married Donaciano Jaramillo (son of Jose Luciano Jaramillo and Petra Padilla and brother to Maria Josefita Jaramillo-Carson and Maria Ignacia Jaramillo-Bent). I don't know much about the Mestas from Pojoaque but I do know that the village was small so perhaps we are related.

Maria Dolores Mestas was the mother of my paternal great grandmother, Augustina Jaramillo who married Benito Cardenas. They were the parents of my paternal grandmother Maria Cleofas Cardenas.

I have a picture of Maria Dolores Mestas of Pojoaque if anyone might be interested.

Ada
