I've traced my ggrandfather John Maginn b. 1814, to County Tyrone. While I don't know if I'm related to William the writer, I do know that the name has always been spelled two ways -- Maginn and McGinn. You might make a connection if you post your messaage on the McGinn Family Forum page. Good luck.
John Maginn's third child was Bernard William Maginn and His fourth was Edward William Maginn -- common names but you never know. I'd be very pleased if you make a connection to pass on any information that might involve my ancestors. Thanks

Dennis Maginn
