This man owned land in S. Buffalo Township, Armstrong Co., Pa. Next to his land lay land settled by James Dougherty, and the VanDykes. I have been in contact with the Pa. Archives searching for more information, however much to my dismay there is none. Steven's land as was Dougherty's is not listed. Even thought they show on a map, there is no lot number, or patent, but a suvey was there for the land of Mahaffy about 1810.
What I need is anything that anyone may have that would supply me with HOW James Dougherty acquired the land and if Mahaffy sold to Dougherty.
