Hello Grady,

Your Martha was a sister to my g-g-g-grandfather Amos Mahaffey. I do have information on Texas Mahaffeys in generations forward from him, but can not seem to move backwards beyond William, the father of Martha and Amos.
Amos (Sr) served in the Confederate army, survived (His son William did not, but was killed at the Battle of Pea Ridge in Arkansas), and moved his family from Chester, TX to Willow Creek, TX in NW Harris County in the late 1860's. He went back to Chester to retrieve other belongings and died on the way back to Willow. His family stayed on at Willow and many are buried there in the Willow Creek Cemetery. The Old Mahaffey Homeplace, which is just across Farm Road 2920 from the Willow Creek Cemetery, is now a large cemetery called Klein Memorial Park on 2920. Let me know if there is a way I can help you with your searches.

---Cousin Becky
