I'm very interested in the Mahaffey and McHaffie ydna. One Mahaffey contact recently reported that his haplogroup is I2a which is very rare, found in Scotland. Ten thousand years ago it was in s.e. Europe but those in that area have markers that those with I2a in Scotland do not have. Some men with my McHaffie surname, roots in colonial America, also are haplogroup I2a. The ScottishDNA ydna chart now shows results for 4,000 tested by surname, and seems the best place to watch for more test results.
