Kathy I have just come back Columbus, Ohio State Library I found a lot of information. Don't have it all organized. But here is some of it. The names are spelled MeHaffey, MaHaffey, Mchaffey, and McHaffie. These are all used by the same person at different time. Some times the last E is left out. It starts with Alexender in Kentucky in 1820 in Fayette County. 1824 Alexander buys land in Preble County. He is list in personal property tax Until 1827. In 1828 Probate Starts on his estate. There is records of land being sold to pay debts in 1831 probate records which lists all of the children. John, Jane, Alexander, Samuel, And James McHaffy. Alexander,s wife Married Robert Stoops in 1836, both died in Preble County I have the dates and cemetery. Alexander died in Butler County.
