Emma Mary Mellalieu - Middleton Born 22/2/1860 Died 1889 Age 29

I have just started to do my family tree and trying to find out about the Mellalieu family of Middleton who were in the Silk trade. My great-great-grandmother was Emma Mary Mellalieu who was orphaned at an early age and was brought up by her Aunt Brierley who lived at Stanycliffe Hall in Middleton (this was pulled down in 1936). Emma's mother was a Sarah Mellalieu and her father was James Mellalieu - if anyone has any information about my ancestors I would be grateful if you would contact me. I believe that James Mellalieu lived at Stanycliffe House which is now the Labour Club in Middleton and I do believe there is a coat of arms on the floor there.
