DENNIS MALLEY / MELLEY b. ~1835
Posted by: Rita Chesterton (ID *****3106) Date: October 08, 2004 at 22:59:35
  of 185

Looking for anyone with knowledge of my gt-grandfather DENNIS MALLEY. He was born 1835 in Ireland but worked on railroads in central PA from 1875 to 1895. He's known to have lived in Clearfield Co. and Luzerne Co, perhaps Cambria Co. His wife was Sarah Jane Vliet of NJ. They had two daughters, Kate and Mary Ellen. Family shows up in 1880 Census for East Plymouth Twp, Luzerne Co, PA as Dennis MELLEY for some reason. Wife Sarah died young in 1890 and burial recorded her name as MELLEY. However our family always spells it MALLEY. Dennis may have had a first wife and other children. He disappeared in 1895.
