My great grandmother's family were from Mayo - Westport or area I think - and were variously called Malay,Maley,Malley and eventually Melia in England. According to one genealogy site, these are all variants of Malee or Mulloy. They came to Ormskirk then Chorley in Lancashire around the time of the potato famine. Father and mother were James and Mary (nee Fleming) and children born in Ireland were Patrick (maybe James' dad was called this?) and Catherine. The area near Westport MAY have been Aughagower.
