My father Came to the US in 1932. Here he used the name Tom Malley, but in Ireland it was Melly. He was known as Tom Charlie the Herd, (his father's name)to distinguish him from his first cousin Tom John the Baker. Charley and John were brothers. They lived in Leitir Mac an Bhaird (lettrermacaward), Near the bridge that crosses the Gweebarra river. My father had 2 brothers, Danny and Eddie, one never married, the other had 2 daughters, but i forget which is which. He had 5 sisters The only one I remember is Annie, who was married to a man named sweeney. After he died she married a man named Connie Melly.
There was also a Hannah Melly who was married to Barney Campbell. They lived in Staten Island NY for a long time, then returned to Ireland. Both are now dead. Hannah lived in glenties with a daughter Kathleen. Don't know Kathleen's last name. She is a nurse. Barney and Hannah had 4 other children, Brian (deceased), Michasel whereabouts unknown, Noreen in NJ, Maryann in Pearl river NY. There was also s Sarah Ann Melly, Married to a Jim Boyle, living in bronx Ny. Tommaol@localnet.com
