Samuel T. Malloch
My mom was a Maloch, a descendent of Samuel T.'s son, Thomas Atlas. I am looking for male Maloch descendents of other sons of Samuel T. so that we have as our earliest common ancestor, Samuel T.
We have always been told that our ancestory lies with the MacGregor Clan in Scotland. However, as I'm sure you are well aware, the paper trail ends with Samuel T. in North Carolina. The advent of DNA testing allows us to skip the paper trail when it dead-ends and cross the Atlantic to find who our early ancestors were.An important part of the DNA trail is establishing mutation rates in the DNA sequences for Maloch DNA.Since we know our earliest common ancestor would be Samuel T., we can use the mutations that have occurred in the last 220 years to establish those rates. We recently submitted DNA from my mom's brother for a 37 DNA marker test as a part of the MacGregor DNA Project.I am hopeful that I can excite my other Maloch kin to also have their DNA tested. It's a simple test that only requires swabbing loose cheek cells from inside one's mouth.
I hope to hear back from you soon as together, we can learn a lot more about our common roots.
