Hi, Bunny. My maternal GM, Mary Kate (Malloy) Hennigan, was born in 1886, the second of eight children. Unfortunately, her birthdate is the only one of which I am certain. Her parents, John and Mary (Dougherty) Malloy, were preceded (on her paternal side) by Martin and Sarah (Mulligan) Malloy. There's ongoing, friendly debate as to the correct spelling of "Malloy" through the generations. It seems "Mulloy," "Molloy," and "Malloy" were all used at some time.

My recollection is that she came to America in her late teens, lived for a time in Gary, Indiana, and eventually resided in the Douglas Park area of Chicago.
