I can muddy up the waters a bit. I too have Brown and Malloys in Michigan. Patrick Malloy (ca 1809 of Arranmore Island, Donegal, Ireland) and his family, Mary Mooney Malloy, Philip, Ellen, Thomas, Susan (*my great gram), Mary, John, Catherine, Bridget, Patrick and Hugh came to Canada and then on to Beaver Island, Michigan. Susan Malloy married William Brown (originally named Laplant) and they had ten children, two of which were baptised on Beaver Island. The family moved to other michigan locations. I've been trying to track them for years. I've found Catherine ADELINE Brown Davenport's family. Anyone who thinks these folks my be theirs...holler. I have photos of many of them.
