This may be old news now, but I was also searching for information on them. I happen to know through someone else's research that Catherine Seither's (aka Catherine Satter's) father was named Jacob, and that Jacob immigrated to New Orleans from Germany. Unfortunately, an 1870 census taker in New Orleans used only initials for first names, so this may be a long shot -- but I did find a "J Sither" from Baden in that census. This "J Sither" had a daughter named "C Sither" born the same year (1861) as the Catherine who later married John Malloy. John and Catherine are shown on the 1900 census as having children Annie, Catherine, Henry, Megdalena, John, William, and Charles. I could find no other Jacob Sither/Seither/Satter, so this may very well be Catherine Seither's father. Please let me know if this helps you.
