William Burton Malone was a son of Pumphrey Malone. He was born about 1822 and died 8-10-1897, married 1st to an Eliza A. Thompkin(s) and married after 1870 to a Mrs. Mary A. Crowell, a widow. He and Eliza had: Ivanora L., b. 1854 Franklin Co., Ala., md. Hall Cothrum; Arimentha Climons b. 1856 md. Andrew Jesse Hunt; Louisa Elton Malone md. Louis Hill; Portia A. Malone md. James Rabun Burges; Milus Malone md. Lou Gray and last: Benton L. Malone b. ca. 1868 in Franklin Co., Alabama who md. Hattie Knight.
Pumphrey Malone was born ca. 1787 in North Carolina who md. 1st in Person Co., NC 9-24-1812 to a Nancy Wells and second to Polly Runnells, his wife in 1850 census. He lived near Tollison's Creek in Frankfurt, Alabama. He had sons Arthur (Elias) Daniel Malone, b. 1817; Fleming Beasley b. 1821; Pierce: John Pumphrey; Henry Addison; Richard Green;Milus, Robert David; James Richards Malone;Sarah B. and Josie Malone.
I believe that E.D. Malone (Elias Daniel) might have been the security on the estate of my husband's ancestor, Daniel Malone's son, Mirandy Clinton Malone, in Clarke Co., Arkansas. Arthur (Elias) Daniel Malone lived in Conway Co., Arkansas at his death.
Pomphret Malone was a son of John Malone and his wife, Anne Blackwell, a d/o John Blackwell Sr. and wife, Franky Pompfret.They were residents of Granville Co., NC.
