Hi Barb, tried your email but it was returned hope you get this. Nicki [email protected]
Hi Barb, Been a long time, but back at the never ending search for lost ones. I found a little tidbit in case you don't have this info & also some qestions for you.
Miles W. Malone is buried at Stump Bridge Cemetery in Attala Co., Ms. No birth or death dates are listed.
Also his 2nd marriage to Addie L. Turner born 2-27-1870 & died 2-8-1955 Attala co., Ms & is buried at Harmonia Church Cem. . I think I have narrowed down when Mary Catherine Wood Malone might have died ( possibly in childbirth) Heres my thinking so let me know what you think.
Miles W. Malone borm Mar. 1848 Ms. Married July 16, 1868 , Louisville, Winston Co., Ms. to Mary Catherine Wood born abt. 1851 Ms.. They had 5? (children:
1. James David born Oct. 16, 1871 Ms. Married Feb. 21, 1897 Attala to Anna Lee Bain. James died Feb. 15, 1953 Shaw, Ms.
2. Bettie L. Malone born abt. 1874 Ms.
3. Robert W. Malone born Sept 1877 Ms. Married Aug. 25, 1898 to Ida Burchfield.
4. Dessie M. Malone born May 1892 Ms. Married Feb. 16, 1908 Attala Co.,Ms to C.C. May
5. Elizabeth "Lizzie" born Mar. 16, 1894 Attala Co.,Ms. Married May 6, 1906 to John Louis Cotton. Lizzie died Oct. 19, 1975 Ms.
Miles W. Malone married Mayy 7, 1896 Addie L. Turner Attala, Ms
children:
6. Lillie B.born Mar. 1897 Ms.
7. Charles born Nov. 1899
My thinking is Mary Catherine possibly died in childbirth with Elizabeth "Lizzie".
Notice the birth dates of Dessie & Elizabeth & marriage date to Addie?
What do you think ? Also have you checked any of the pension records for Miles W. Malone? Co. D 5th Ms. Infantry and Co. E, 16 Ala. Inf. 3rd Lt.
