MALONE's, Bolger's in Philadelphia c. 1880's and onward...
Hi.
In going through my own MALONE history, I have uncovered a couple folks that I think are distant cousins and I'm trying to sew stuff together....
My great Aunt JOSEPHINE JOHANNA MALONE came into the US on June 6, 1901 from Queenstown via Ellis Island. On the same ship was a JOHN MALONE.Both were listed as being from Graigue(namanagh) He was going to the same address in Philadelphia as Josephine ...1519 N. Broad. He claimed to be visiting a sister, she claimed a first cousin (named ? Malone). The people who lived at that address in 1901 were John and Eliz. Bolger. No Malone...however, in 1900, I found an ANNIE MALONE who came into the port of Philadelphia on the Pennland on May 8, 1900 and was heading to that same Broad Street address... Annie was from St. Mullins...the same area as the other two.she claimed to be going to a cousin. I think Elizabeth may be the link...
In the 1900 Census, Annie was employed nearby as a domestic to a couple named Snow.I think Eliz. Bolger may have been widowed shortly thereafter but unsure.Possible that Annie moved back to that Broad Street address before the others came over...
I know what happened to Josephine but the others are a mystery...any of them sound familiar?
Thanks!
Joann
