Deed dated 1808.
This document particularly interests me in view of name of a David Malone (David Malone in statewide census index in N. Car, 1806 in Wake county) and your ancestor reported moved to Tenn abt.1808. If this Lewis, is the Lewis dying in Caswell county in N. Carolina in 1792, then we might have a clue that his children moved on after his death and got his land in Tenn. On same film item 3, book 6, page 416, Drury Malone sells to James Vinson 24 Sep 1813. At that time Drury is living in Shelby County, Kentucky. Land in Tenn on waters of Sinking Creek, Sumner 113 acres. Land devised from his father, Lewis Malone, as one of legatees.

Chesley Malone Files
Guion Miller applications of my great grandfather, Chesley Malone, of Putnam County, Tennessee, submitted in 1907. This was in response to a decision to grant funds to those of Cherokee ancestry. While he didn't submit enough information to prove our Cherokee heritage, it did provide valuable information in my genealogical research. Prior to this discovery, a "brick wall" had existed for many years regarding is past. As a matter of interest, his grandfather, Harvey Malone, was half-Cherokee from his mother's side
