If you would go in to the website for South Carolina Dept. of Archives and History, there is an online searchable database for a very early Richard Malone (from memory) who did go back and forth from the Bahamas to Charleston,SC.
I am not sure what I came across regarding him but you might see something I don't relate to...I believe though it might have had to do with the girl you mention. I have not found alot of early SC marriages in that area, though.
