My name is Michael Mangine. Half my family is Mangine and the other half is Mancini. From the information I found, 2 brothers Nicholas and james came from Italy. Their last names were Mangine. When you say Mangine in Italian, it sounds like Mancini.So when they got off the boat, that was how the people talking the information pernounced it. So the one brother kept Mancini and the other Mangine. Nicholas had a son Charles, who was my great uncle and died in the mid to late seventies. Charles had 2 brothers, James jr. and peter. I don't know if there is any connection here, but I'm still in the research stage. Good luck in your findings.
