Thanks for your response.Since that posting I've learned a little more.My John Beattie was indeed a cousin to James McBurney - their mothers were sisters.I am still brick-walled with my Eliza, John Beattie's wife.Their daughter, Margaret, named her son Manderson Lomas.Margaret's middle initial is "M" which is thought to have stood for "Manderson".
Eliza had a sister named Mary who married William Edmiston, and also had a brother, James.I am trying to figure out what their Manderson connection was and have surmised perhaps their mother was a Manderson?Andrew Manderson who married John's cousin, Elizabeth McBurney, was from Crumlin.However, Eliza seems to have been from Ballymena.Do you know of any Manderson families that were in the Ballymena area?I think Eliza's mother was likely a Margaret Manderson but have not as yet located a family that fits. Any advice or information appreciated.
