What's YOUR Line?
I saw this in another forum where you post a brief listing about your line ~ maybe this will help us all out! I have found 13 different spellings of my Maynor's in researching this crazy family! One side of the family believes our origins are Scotch or Irish ~ the other thinks there is a Lumbee Indian connection.

m. Chloe Phillips of Chatham County NC by 1841
2. Joseph (Josiah) (b. 1842 Chatham County d. 7-6-1917 Durham NC)
m. Mary Ann Martindale. Joseph's death certificate stated that
his father was born in Sampson County.
2. Theany (b. 11-27-1847 Moore County NC d.2-27-1926 Moore County)
m. Martin D. Davis of Moore County
2. William Judson (b. 6-17-1845 Moore County d. 9-23-1926 Old
Soldiers Home in Raleigh; buried in Glendon, Moore County NC)
m. Mary Ann Phillips (1st) Winnie Stallings (2nd)
3. Children of William Judson and Mary Ann Phillips Maynor:
--William Maness (Will Maner) (b. 1861 Moore d. 1944 Moore County)
He ran a store in the Putnam area for years. Died in the
County Home.
--George Henry Maner (b. 1867 Moore County ~ moved to Caldwell,
Texas in 1890 to work for Judge AW McIver)
--Cornealius J. (Neal) (b. 1869 d.?) was a barber. Married Hassie
Short Fields of Carthage, NC. Was supposed to be living in
Cleveland, Ohio in 1926 according to the Obit for Wm. Judson.
--Malisia Alice (b. 1872 d. 1947) m. Calvin A. MacKenzie
--Alexander A. (b. 1874 d. 1946) m. Maggie Rigsbee
--L.C. (Lonnie) (b. 1880 d. around 1917 in flu epidemic in Virginia.
m. Amanda Ausley. Their child, Vernon, was adopted by a Bagley
family in Virginia.
--Mary Alice Maynard (b. 1884 Forsyth County d. 1966) m. Milton
Peace (1st) William Hogshire (2nd)
--Angus Edgar (My Grandfather) (b. 6-6-1877 or 6-22-1877 d. ?)
m. Virginia Ella O'Neal in 1902. Angus was a barber in Durham,
Greensboro (1926 or 1927), Hendersonville (1926). He disappeared
in 1926 or 1927. Virginia got an absolute divorce in 1933. Angus
(pronounced Anguish) was "rumored" to have been living in or
around the Asheville NC area in early 1960. We never found him.
