Sharon: I am a descendant of Margaret Manhard who married William Hamlin (Hamblin) about 1811-12 in Brocksville, (Elizabethtown) Ontario. Some researchers say she was born in Canada and/or England. More likely parents are from England. In the Reid book account is the mention of William Hamlin being an early settler. I do know that they migrated to Ohio. Their tombstones in the Brown Cemetery in Lykins Township has birth and death dates: i.e. William 23 Aug 1787, d. 7 Sep 1869; Margaret 11 Apr 1794, d. 13 Jun 1868. There is a David Manhard buried in Rock Creek Cemetery in Eden Township 3 miles from Melmore OH. This may be her father. From the source: Loyalist Lineages of anada 1783-1983 by Toronto Branch of United Empire Loyalist Asso. of Canada appears the following: David Manhard, Children: Elizabeth, George, Margaret, Henry and William. Any info to establish the parents of Margaret? would appreciate an e-mail. thanks, Winona
