Dear Kieran: In the University of Nottingham Library-- Manuscripts and special Collections. I found the following reference: Portland Correspondence: Letters sent to John Achard, 1743-1763
Page 10 of Pl c 37/28 10. 9. 1748 " Has been with Mr. Thornhaugh, Mr. Warde and Sir George Pomfret (Pontefract). It was pretty but it rained; the ladies visited Lady Kinnoul about a mile away; the Bishop of St
Asaph was also there; reports thet while they were at Scarborough, Miss Manners left suddenly with Mr Hall a young officer and Lord William Manners arrived to late to prevent the marriage" No reference to which of Lord Williams three daughters: Augusta, Caroline or Frances. I am a descendant of Lord William's through the youngest of his five son's Robert. Connie Conacher
