Hi, I was interested to see your request for information about John Manners a solicitor born in the early 1800's.
John was my great great grandfather.
I have lots of info. about him and his family, but just to put you straight on one thing - his parents were THOMAS MANNERS and LOUISA MANNERS (maiden name)
Thomas' parents were WILLIAM MANNERS and FRANCES WHICHCOTE, she was the daughter of SIR CHRISTOPHER MANNERS Baronet of Aswarby, Lincolnshire.

I haven't been able to make a connection between my Manners family and the Dukes of Rutland.
