Manners in Virginia

Does anyone know who the first Manners in Virginia were. The first census that shows a Manners is the 1810 Botetourt County which lists Stophle Manners. However there are a James M. Manners Sr. and James M. Manners Jr. on the Personal Tax List of Charles City County, VA of 1790. Do these people tie in together in anyway.
