Dear Peter,
Thanks for your reply. You have the same info that I do. I have a copy of Samuel Manners
and Elizabeth Gaunt's marriage certificate but Samuel's father's name isn't given. I am guessing
this is because he is illegitimate. Do you know if this is true or not? I thought I had a generation
back further but I don't. How do you relate to James Gaunt Manners? My partner is his
Gt Gt Gt grandson through his daughter Maude E Manners who married Robert Presant in
September quarter 1890 St Saviour, Southwark (Counties of London and Surrey). Robert
worked as a publican in 1901 living in Lambeth with his family.
I know the following children of James Gaunt Manners. Could you tell me who I'm missing?

Martha E
Rose E
Alice M
Henry E G

Do have any other info on James's family or parents? I really hit a brick wall when I couldn't
find Samuel's fathers name though I haven't yet traced the church records to see if this gives
the name. My partners family were convinced they were/are somehow related to the Duke
of Rutland but I haven't managed to confirm this as of yet.
