Hi, I have just found this post re Julia Manners and her mother Sophia. Do you know anything about another daughter, Ellen? She was born in 1862, around the time that an affiliation order was taken out between Sophia and Joseph Plim, who was my ancestor. This suggests that he could have been her father, although the order was quashed on appeal (according to the Reading Mercury of 12th April 1862).
I have also just found a report from the Central Criminal Court regarding Sophia's bigamist marriage to James Stent, which states they have 5 children, so was Ellen his instead?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
