Manners in India, England and Australia

Hello! I am researching my husband's family on his mother's side. His grandmother was Frances Mabel Manners born in 1883 in Calcutta. She used to say that they were cousins to the Duke of Rutland (we still have siver buttons from the servants' livers in India with the family peacock crest. She had brothers Lionel and Cecil. One of them left for Australia and another one for America to start an orange farm. Their father Edward Manners together with his elder brother Erskine Alexander Manners were indigo planters in Bihar. Their grandfather was Herbert Russell Manners born in 1819/1820 in Southhampton. He retired as colonel in the army and went back to London around 1866. His father was Henry Herbert Manners (major in the 60th regiment (Duke of Yorks Own Rifle Corps) in the 1826 Army list and and his mother- Sabina Poole Manners. I cannot trace the father of Henry Herbert Manners and he must be the connection to the Duke of Rutland.

Is anyone researching the same people? I would be happy to hear from you!

Best regards,
Steffi
