Good luck! I've found my connection to the first Earl of Rutland. There is a book called "Passage of No Return. Manners and Relations" by Gladys E. Manners, 1981, Australia. Maybe you can find a connection through that book as she traced Australian Manners who had gone out there from England (the Wiltshire branch) but there is also a large contingent in the north of England.
