Hi Lynne,
I have just this week started on my mothers side of the family, although I have been researching on my fathers side for about five years. I almost could not believe my eyes when I read your message, had only been to the record office on Wed.7th march last week, and tried to get Anne Manners birth cert.and marriage cert.but had no luck.Have quite a bit of information I can share with you, my mother was Mable May,one of nine children, her eldest sister sadley died, just two years ago, and because of my interest in Family History, passed on to me lots of photo's, and a hand written list taken from a Family Bible, so have been making steady progress in understanding the older writing.Anne Manners was born as you rightly said 21st May 1827 and died 22nd Sept 1895 she was married to John May about Sept1859.They were my Great Grandparents.I also know the verbal history about the Duke of Rutland, but had always taken with a "pinch of salt" but that is now to much of a coincidence please reply soon can hardly wait!!regards Bobby
