Dear Connie and Caroline,

We are descendants through Henry Herbert (1786-1843), Lt.Col.(95th Foot,Rifle brigade) and 37th Foot. He married Sabina Brissett (1794-1874) and they had 6 sons and 4 daughters. Our guy is Herbert Russell Manners (1819-1907), Colonel in the same regiments as his father. His sons were indigo planters and maybe he himself after retirement, I am not sure. He died in 1907 in Bihar, India where his sons' plantations were. He was married to Angela Browne in Ceylon. She was granddaughter of the famous Admiral Rodney.

Is your George Manners (1778-1853), Barrister, Editor (?), Consul Boston who married Charlotte Hughers and has 1 son and 3 daughers?

Do you have photographs of him and the family? I would be delighter to have copies.

My huaband is compiling the family tree, but it is a huge job. Following the line of Catherine Russell, the wife of John, the second duke we found almost every duke and earl in England related! So far he has established a direct link with King Edward III and reached the 9th century!

I would be delighted to hear from you. We haven't been able to establish a lot about Lord William Manners and his life. Did he ever marry Corbetta is among the things we don't know. The same goes for his son Robert. I know nothing of his life other than the dates of birth and death, not even the places! Can you help me on this?

Best regards,
