Welcome to online research cousin. My Great-Grandfather was Frederick Gilkeson Manners, brother to your Great-Grandfather James Harrison Manners. I've been posting my genealogical research to my webpage. I have the Descendants of John Manners and Rebecca Stout at: http://www.geocities.com/dane97520/MannersTree.html James Samuel and Mary Lucy's Tombstone at: http://www.geocities.com/dane97520/Frenchtown.html Jeff DeMarco has photos of the Stout-Manners Cemetery at: http://www.mbay.net/~jmd/geninfo/stoutmanners.html I'm interested in any and all research you have. I would appreciate a copy of Eunice's Will. I haven't seen it listed in any of the will indexes. When did she die? and where is she buried? You mentioned that Abraham died without marrying, however, actually he married Mary Stout and had at least one child, Fred Manners of Newark. The Abraham Manners in the Stout-Manners Cemetery that died in 1835 was John S. Manners' brother. Do you have any information on Henry Cray (birth and death?) in you files? Apparently, he was 19 when he married Eunice in 1857. The 1860 census is unclear and he might have been older. To be the father of James Samuel at age 12 and Oscar F. at 9 or 10 seems unlikely. I've been unable to get James Samuel's birth record from the State Archives through the mail. Perhaps he is listed as a Cray? Good to hear from you. Dane Coefer Ashland, Oregon danec@osfashland.org
