Thanks Cathy -- I'm not really sure which brother it was though.Looking through census records, I'm still unsure of which brother he lived with based upon the three there are records on.
1)The 1860 Missouri Census showed a son named Burrell Mansell, born abt 1850 in Kentucky. I never found him in any other records. So I'm not leaning towards him.
2)There was also a son named Martin Badey Mansell, and he had a wife named Lillie. He was born in Missouri in 1854.He tends to be the one I lean toward Thomas & Sarah going to live with when their parents died.I think he is the one listed as "Bird Mansell" in the 1900 Census that they are living with.
3)Finally, there was a son named B. M. Mansell, born in Missouri in 1856 (shown in the 1880 Missouri Census) who has a wife named Sarah, not Lilie.
Are you familiar with any of these male Mansells?I would like to know which one Thomas and Sarah went to live with and what their parents (James Mansell and Kate Adams) died of.
