Hi William,
Thank you for the inquiry. But your Mansell's are not related to my William Mansell. What I had found out is that William Mansell was born in Homer, Shopshire, England. He was born illegitimite to Isabella Mansell, who later married a William Bagley/Bagnall, who was from Longton, Staffordshire. She had 7 more children from that union.
For 20 years between 1861 to 1881, William Mansell had used the name Bagnall/Bagley.That is why I couldn't find him for a long while.Until on the 1881 Census he went back to using the Mansell name, when he married Anne.In 1882 they came over the ocean to Pennsylvania, and settle in St. Clair.
William Mansell married a girl from Trentham, Staffordshire (Ann Rushton) that is why I originaly thought William Mansell was from Staffordshire.
I have no idea who William Mansell true surname would have been, it will probably always be a mystery to our family. So I am so sorry I could not help you with your Mansell line.
Isabella parents were Elias and Martha (Owen) Mansell and they were both from Shropshire.
