I believe you may be looking for my family. My Great-Grandfather and family came to America in the early 1900's. I understand we came from a small province in Russia near Chernobyl. The original spelling would have been Manthey, there is a town on old maps with that name.

20 years ago, a cousin did an in-depth search of our family tree. A rather thick booklet was produced of his findings. I'll have to find out where it is. I have not looked for it in years, but it's around.

I could direct questions to my Grandfather as well. He is 85-years-old. He probably knows quite a bit.
