William Maples In Grainger County

I have been searching for the parents of William M. Maples born in November 1846 for about 5 years now. He was married to Rutha Dalton Maples in October 1869 under the name William Dotson. He was an illigetimate child most likely of a Maples girl. I believe his father might have been W.B. Dodson who was the son of Joel Dodson and married To Francis Vittatoe.

In some recent research I found a marriage record of David Martin and Mary Maples in Grainger county in 1844. They also had a William in there household in the 1850 grainger dist 10census that fits the age of my William. It is in that same neighborhood that has Amanda Vandergrift Maples...Polly Maples (62) and the James B. Maples family. I have heard several people say including Mike Maples that some of those were tied into Edmond Maples and all of those broken families.

Does anyone have any information on this Mary Maples born around 1820 and married to David Martin. I would imagine she is a daughter of Edmond..but not sure. I was going to ask Mike Maples...but don't have his email or phone anymore. Hope he is doing well.

If anyone has any info on William Maples or any of this please let me know.

Russell Maples son of Jerry Maples son of Stanley Maples son of Samuel Napolean Maples son of William M. Maples (Dotson)

Thanks. Sorry for the lengthy posting.
Rusty Maples
