I've found what I presume to be him and his brother Levander on the 1860 census of John Hammock, although the ages are a little off. It would appear that maybe they also had a brother Edmon married to Nancy Hammock with 2 of their children and then the boys. I am assuming their parents are dead and that William's mother must have been a Hammock too.

Can anyone confirm this??
