Could anyone tell me if there was a "Gid" or Gideon Maples who lived in Mitchell County, Ga. around 1863? The Colquitt family history states Francis Marion Colquitt was buried on the Gid Maples place in Mitchell County, Ga. August,1863. Maybe Gideon was a middle name, would appreciate any information.
