William Atchley Maples (1822 - 1856) First mention of him is in "Pioners and Makers of Arkansas" by J Shinn 1910, in the chapter of the Lafferty family. It says that a daughter of Binks married several times one of the husbands being Reverand William Atchley Maples of Carroll County, Arkansas. Also see family Bible of Jacob Binks Lafferty. In John A. Anderson's Centinnial page 43, Tribute to local preachers, Carroll Co. Ark page 77 of the same book: William Atchley Maples entered on the trail as a traveling preacher.
