John MAPLES was married twice.He married firstly to his first cousin, Sarah Jane CLARK on December 23, 1858, in Jackson Co., FL.She was a daughter of his mother's sister, Mary Ann MUSGROVE and second husband, an unidentified CLARK.Sarah and her mother were living with her grandparents, Larkin Cuthbert MUSGROVE and wife, Nancy POOL on the 1850 Census in Jackson Co., FL; but her parents died before the 1860 census.Sarah Jane's mother, Mary Ann, had married firstly to William? COOPER about 1838 in Baker Co., GA, and had three COOPER children, that were reared by her sister, Hettie Louse and husband, Isael MAPLES, who went to court and gained custody.
