Johnny, thank you for your informative and interesting response regarding our family name you posted last November. I am the granddaughter of Amillya (I believe some family members spell it Amelia)Ochoa and daughter of Joseph Marichalar. My father passed away some time ago, and I was never told of our family's name history. I've heard rumors also, about our name being french, but really had no other information. My father had always told me he was full mexican, which confused me as to why he had a french name? Anyway, thank you for your input.
