Hi, I am from the Milleson Marine family line of Dorchester County, MD.The Marine name comes from the French name de Marin or Marien.
I think I may have some information that pertains to the Marine connection and I also wanted to ask if anyone has any information on the European link to please notify me.
Looking through the records that were given to me, there are four generations of Zorobabels. The info I have is a bit confusing so I tried to keep it simple.I have only included the the family line that moved to NC, not their siblings (many which were named Zorobabel).I would be happy to give you copies of all the info I have.
Milleson Marine settled in Maryland in 1655. He was born in France aprox. 1634 and died in 1679 in Deleware. He married Lavina or Lovely Major who were early settlers in Accomac, Virginia.Their son Jonathan married Kezia (surname unknown).Their son Jonathan II married Rachel Victor. Then the records skip a generation and report that Jonathan IV headed a Quaker colony of 70 people to NC and later founded the Piney Groove Meeting in SC and the yearly meeting in New Garden, NC (now Guilford Court House).Jonathan IV willed the land on which the meetings took place when he moved to Ohio.It also states that the family also went on to found County, Indianina.
Let me know if this helps.
Kim Marine Okochi
