Yes! Samuel's father was Johannes Marki from Rufenach, Switzerland. My wife and I spent a week in Rufenach this past spring. I traced your Samuel's line of Marki's back to 1610. I would be glad to give you all of the information. I have old photos as well as current pictures we took while in Rufenach.

I have been trying in vain to find out what happened to Samuel Marke and his family. He and Gottlieb went to Loup City, Nebraska. Then your family when west and mine went to Moline, IL.

By the way, in Switzerland the family name is spelled Marki with two dots (umlaut) over the "a." I had mistakenly been told by my mother that it had a final "y."
