My mother-in-law, Laura Marke Corkill, daughter of William Tell Marke, granddaughter of Samuel Marke - Dora Shultz, will be 96 years old on February 12, 2006. She believes she is the oldest Marke, ever. I have the family tree - 12 children - and information on living descedents. Samuel lived and died in California. William Tell and Cora Pitts Marke lived in Nebraska, then in Wyoming with HITT families, before moving on to Idaho and finally to Nevada. Dora's 12th child was not a Marke. Dora and last daughter, Esther, and daughter Emma [Keller] took up homestead at Halsey, Nebraska. Dora is buried in Joplin, Missouri. Laura was born at Geneva, Nebraska, and then family moved to Chugwater - Slater, Wyoming. Oldest son of Samuel and Dora used the name Paul MARKEY. I corresponded with Gottlieb Marke relatives in Rock Island, Illinois until they passed on.
