Thank you for reply. I can't rule out any connection, but have a few questions. I am assuming Josephine was born 1881 (typo, 1981?), and you mentioned a half-brother, Walter -- would that be the Mellir listed in the census with Adam? If so, he would be older than my uncle Walter by about 25 years. Our Walter was the youngest sibling of my grandmother and born c. 1924?? There was approx. 25 yrs. difference in their ages. I understand though that my great-grandfather, who lived in Duluth area lived to be very close to 100 and would have died c. 1960's in that area. He could have had extended family in those years (I know there were 13 siblings total, at least). Do you have any further info on Stanislaw Kwiecinski?

Also, I know I have some uncles, cousins in the Wash. state area - some living on islands off Wash. coast. Have no names as yet unfortunately. Any possible connections in either MN or Wash. state areas? Last known address for Florence was Seattle (as late as 1996). Last known residence for Esther was Blue Springs, MO (c.1994).

Florence married a Henry (surname), Esther married Juul Larsen, born in Oslo. Both sisters of Walter and Estelle.

One last piece of info -- some of our Kwiecinski's changed surname to "Finch" in 1920's - any Finch connection that you know of in your line?

Thanks for your indulgence - this branch has me totally stumped. Grandma Estelle never spoke much about her family at all and my father was an only child, who died at 48 in 1969.
