My grandparents, Agnes and George Markiewicz, both had families in Poland. I think my grandpa was born there and moved shortly thereafter to the States. My grandma was born is Escanaba, MI in the UP. They moved to Chicago where the spent a good portion of their life. They raised 3 sons - George, Eugene, and Robert. George sr. has since passed away. Agnes, Robert, and Eugene now reside in Oceana county, MI. Robert is my father. There are 6 kids in the family - Laura, Cheryl, Rob, Deanna, Scott, and David. There are an additional combined 6 grandkids from the four oldest children. Eugene has never married and has no kids. George jr. is married with 6 kids and many grandchildren. George still resides in ILL. If any of this sounds familiar, please let me know. Thanks.
