My mother, Anne Markowitz Berg, died in 1975. She left home in Ohio when she was only 16. Her parents were Issac & Rose Markowitz. I don't know if they were from Romania or not, but I have never been able to locate any of her relatives. She never went home again, but claimed she had 5 siblings. I am friends with a Markowitz family here in Austin, and I could ask about your relatives.
