No, not related, but I'm curious about the immigration through Canada. My great grandfather Meyer Markowitz immigrated to the U.S. via Montreal before WWI. He is the only one of my ancestors who did not come through New York, and also the only one from Roumania. Is there a reason why so many from that country went through Canada?
