Charles Markwardt

Looking for info on Charles Markwardt, b. abt. 1864 and living in Newton or Jasper Co. MO between 1900 and 1910. He is believed to be a widower with children when he married my great grandmother, Anna Welch, nee Beeler who was widowed with children in the 1890īs.

Believe his children were named Jeanette and possibly Henry but not sure. Jeanette is thought to have married an Oberlechner.

He had a resturant at 707 Main in Joplin, MO, at least in 1908, and I have been told there was also a Markwardt bakery.

He is not found as yet on any MO census records, but the spelling Markwardt was his own handwriting. Orig. name is possibly Marquardt or some variant.

Glad to share info.
